Creative Skillset Website: A Major Resource

In our last session Susannah and Chrissie referred to the Creative Skillset website and how it contains job profiles of the roles involved in film making, and industry practices.

I opened the website and am really impressed with the wealth of resources that it holds.  It is a brilliant reference tool.  The site breaks the industry down into sectors, animation, film, TV etc and then each of those sections has all sorts of links to further reading.  Each section has text about the industry, job profiles, funding ideas, news and events, and all sorts of other stuff that is really useful to know.

This is a brilliant website and is already being really useful to me in setting up the two projects for this semester, both of which I am producer for.

I am determined that during this course I will get as much experience as possible, and make sure that when I graduate I am up to date with what is happening in the industry and what is good practice.

As I am more interested in becoming a producer for TV shows and independent factual programmes, I am really pleased that the Creative Skillset website has a section dedicated to working within the television industry.  This is proving useful and interesting.
